2018 is coming to a close…

I sit here on the last day of 2018 and reflect back on this year. If there is just one word that I could use to describe 2018 (and be nice about it), it would be it OVERWHELMING. That would be the best word I could say without being ugly. This year SUCKED!

So many things have happened in my life and I realized why started Today’s Challenges. I am grateful for the things that have happened to me but there are feelings and events that I could have done without. By far, people don’t realize what each other goes through in day to day life.

How many of us have a 3- month plan, 6- month plan, or 5 year plan? What happens when the plan doesn’t go as follows or even plan B falls apart? That is what my whole year has been with speed bumps all the way.

We see so many people in our day to day lives but how many times do we actually talk to each other and listen. It took me having an incredible roller coaster of a year to learn that we are not alone in this thing we call life. (insert Prince reference). In life so many of us want to be perfect and feel less the achieved if we are not considered to be up to others standards.

Social media has made this hard on us also. Finding the perfect angle and filter, hiding in a spot in our house that looks pristine and clean. Life can appear to be perfect on blogs and social media but it isn’t always the way. Don’t hang yourself up on trying to live in someone else’s filter.

Tomorrow is the New Year full of amazing opportunities and adventures. Don’t let what has happened to stop you from moving forward into 2019 with gusto. Know that you are not alone in the challenges that you are facing.

May the end of your 2018 end with peace and accomplishment. Remember this: “The past is behind. Learn from it. The future is ahead. Prepare for it. The present it here. Live it.” – Thomas Monson

Happy New Year 2019 from Today’s Challenges.

Happy 2019
