Insanity by Beachbody Workout Week #1 Summary
I am on the last day of week one of Insanity by Beachbody. I am so encouraged by this week and challenged too. Here is a breakdown of how my week went:
Day #1: Fit Test done! Some moves had to be modified but I didn’t stop. Always focused on form and not speed.
Day #2: Plyometric Cardio Circuit done! This was a step in the right direction. It allowed me to experience the high intensity workout with modifications. I just kept moving, took my breaks, and sweated through my shirt. Feels great!
Day #3: Cardio Power & Resistance done! Some struggles through this exercise but again modifying and learning how to keep the right form. Can definitely feel muscles forming through my body.
Day #4: Cardio Recovery Nope! My body was feeling the changes and I choose to make this my off day so I did not injury myself. I still ate well just couldn’t push my body without causing harm. Not discouraged just have to listen to my body.
Day #5: Cardio Recovery Done! I skipped a day because I do not look ahead on my workouts. Cardio recovery its a slow to mild workout. Focus on stretching and time for your muscles to adapt to Insanity. It was a happy break to be able to get back into the groove.
Day #6: No Insanity today! I ended up working a 17 hour day and didn’t get home till almost 1 am. I didn’t want to disturb the family so I did not do the Insanity Program. Plus I didn’t want to screw up my sleep pattern. I was going to only be able to get 3 hours of sleep before going back to work so I resorted to rest for my body.
Day #7: Plyometric Cardio Circuit Done! Ok! Error on my part. Today was suppose to be Pure Cardio but with my schedule this week, I jacked up my calendar. I switched them and didn’t realize it till I was done and packing up the program. No worries! I moved my butt to Insanity. Everything else will work itself out later.
Day # 8: Pure Cardio: Done! Not going to lie still doing modifying but I am having a blast. By the time I get into the workout, you go into cool down and then its over.
Week one is done! A couple of delays with my schedule but I have no desire to stop. Part of my success with continuing to move forward is I do not look forward on the workout. Some of the moves are hard yes but I am not dreading it by thinking what could be on the next workout. The biggest thing I do is I listen to my body. No huge jumps for me yet with Insanity, just keep moving with proper form. Watching the video, even the fittest models/athletics are stopping taking breaks. Don’t feel bad for yourself. This is about you and your health, not a competition with the DVD.
In this first week, I have lost 7 lbs. My muscles are tighter, flexibility is getting stronger, and clothes are fitting better. Remember you have to go at your own rate and know have to listen to your body. Week #2, I am here to take you on.
